Happy Monday! There's an oxymoron for you! Positive note: It is almost Tuesday in my neck of the woods! I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday and entire week! On that note, I'm here to unveil my very first "dress." Ever since I "met" Anna from Frosted Petunias through the Blissfull ATC Swap, I have wanted to make one of these little dresses. I had never seen anything like them until I saw Anna's wardrobe safely keeping her dresses from harm. Since then, I've seen others' great dresses through Alice and Camilla. I decided to make my dress a little spooky given it is October. I layered strips of cardstock overtop black fabric. I've detailed the fabric, which is sewn, on the bottom and neckline with black lace and tiny beads. Oh, I printed a super small portion of a famous painting on the cardstock before "stripping." Can you tell from what painting this is?
What do you think?
I can't wait to show you all the awesome stuff I scored over the weekend at the thrift, antique, and flea market!
Toodles for now!

Hi Angela,
Wow--what an amazing dress!!! I love all the details and the necklace at the top--so awesome!
Didn't I tell you it would be fun? I think it's like playing dress-up. I'm so glad you came to tell me about your new creation--I couldn't wait to see it!

Your first dress? Wow - where have you been! I hope you play catch up and make lots m ore gorgeous dresses like this. So glad that you are joining us even though it's late in the year.
This is really lovely Angela! I don't know the painting, but I love the way you've done the skirt!
What a gorgeous little dress! Love how you've used paper from an artwork & the way you cut it. - Not sure what the artwork is. (I first thought it might be Monet's Waterlilies) This is a really cute project you've taken on!
What a pretty little dress...it's hard to believe it's your first one!!
WOW, that sure doesn't look like a first time dress! Gorgeous, Angela!
Right on, Great Job!! Angela, I am a fan of the dresses to and really hope to be a part of the swap next year. From what I understand the current hostess is not going to do it again but hopefully someone else will be able to do it. It looks like so much fun!

Amazing dress ! Welcome to Dress up !
ooooo this is absolutely stunning!!! I love how you have layered the paper over the fabric, stunning my lovely XXX
This is a gorgeous first dress. You have a lovely blog and I had a short trip through your first page before I wrote this comment. I see you love old dress patterns and make some wonderful collages and altered art, too.
I'm not sure what the painting is. I suspect it's something I've never seen before. I also thought it was a Monet, but upon closer inspection realized it was not. My inability to identify the painting doesn't make it any less beautiful on the dress. This is a stunning design. I love the combination of paper and fabric. I'm so glad you joined this challenge or I might never have seen your blog. Welcome to the group and I hope to see more of your masterpieces.
Fantastic dress...love the design.
I'm so pleased you've decided to join us! what a wonderful first dress, love the layering and the detail you've created. There will be more right?? totally fab! Mx
What a great first dress you've made! It's so elegant and a lovely technique too. (I too thought it was a Monet, the one with the water lillies?)
Are you going to catch up with the others? Or maybe you already have, I haven't had a stroll around your blog yet - off to do that next!
Very cute dress, I love it!
Welcome to Margaret's Dress Up, how fun that you could play too!
Your dress is so imaginative, wish I could guess what the painting is ... lovely creation!
I am late this month but finally have a dress ready too :)
Hope you'll be making more dresses.
