Embroidery: Hand vs Free Motion Machine

I am officially on vacation again!  Pretty cool getting to be on vacation for two weeks then go to work for a week and then get to be on vacation again for a week!  I plan on soaking up the sun, spending a lot of time at the pool, thrift and antique mall shopping, and sewing!  I am taking my sewing machine on vacation!  Weird?  Maybe, but I want to continue working on "stuff" for my soon to be opened Etsy shop!

I've been making more embellished image transfer bags like this one:

A little wrinkly, but I hope you can see the hand embroidery I did in order to embellish the ladies.  Speaking of embroidery, I've been experimenting a bit with free motion machine embroidery.  Here is one bag I completed:

There will be plenty of internet access during this vacation, so I hope to post great photos of my travels and whatever cool stuff I come across!
In the meantime, I hope you all have a fantastic Father's Day!

Tootles!

Angela, Love the cupcake bag. My girlfriend and I have been selling our homemade cupcakes to friends for a little extra cash. Ours taste way better than the grocery store kind. Enjoy your vacation!

ooh you lucky thing!! Have a wonderful holiday! I hope you have lots of fun. A holiday for me is not a truly happy one unless I can take something crafty along with me!!
Love the embroidery too.
I am doing a spot of cross stitch at the moment and just love it. I'd forgotten how enjoyable it is! I haven't done any since I was a kid!
I'm looking forward to seeing what your holiday inspires you to make!

Hi Angela, thanks for your visit to my blog earlier and your lovely comment.

Your vacation sounds as though it's going to be fantastic! I love your embroidered cupcake bag - I think the bunting really makes it.

Best of luck with your new Etsy shop - I'm sure you won't need it though as your creations are fab!!

Love the cupcake and banner! Free motion stitching is fun, if a little unorthodox to me - which is why I like it. It doesn't let me be in control. Pulls me out of my comfort zone and allows pure creativity to flow. Looking forward to seeing your Etsy shop. Love and Blessings, Jan of Fursdon House
