Family Fun

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and Mother's Day if celebrated!  I had a pretty great Mother's Day and weekend.  The weather was glorious albeit a bit windy.  I spent Mother's Day with my husband and littlest daughter at a festival in a nearby town.  It was full of freebie foods, games, and rides...well, no mechanical rides.  These rides involved horses and buggies.  The picture above is of us while riding in (or is it on) a stage coach.  It was fun and bumpy.  I cannot imagine traveling across the country in one of those!  I guess I would have been stuck on the East coast as I am quite sure my back would not have allowed me to migrate West!

I didn't get one thing sewn this weekend, but I'm not too upset about that since I had such a great time Saturday and Sunday.  I started a new project today.  I'm pretty excited about it.  It involves another vintage image.  I've already transferred the image onto my fabric and I am now sorting out how to embellish it.  I'll keep you posted.  Oh, and I mailed off the mixed media piece I made last week.  I took this photo, which turned out better, prior to posting.

It should get to England by the end of next week.  I cannot wait until it arrives.  I am positive she's going to love it!

Please don't forget to post your May Dress.  The Rubens inspired dresses are fantastic!  I just wish being Rubensesque was in still in!  I am sure I would be a 10!  Sidenote:  After looking at the family photo at the top of this post, I've determined that, with the exception of the goatee, my husband and I are looking more alike with every passing day!  Does this happen to all married couples?  It also appears I have a death grip on my purse.  Just noticed that.

Tootles!

Boy it sure looks like you had a blast that day! I couldn't imagine riding in a stagecoach either. I am definitely a creature of comfort! I love the picture of the 3 of you too. Glad you had a great Mother's Day weekend!

Hey Girl! So glad that you had a wonderful weekend. I'm sure that riding in a stagecoach is fun - if you only have to go a small distance (like a few feet! LOL!)... I can't imagine having to ride cross-country in one, either! And I fail to see the resemblance of you to your hubby, except for the sunglasses! And I agree with Dina....Jeff is bald too, so I sure hope I'm not starting to look like him! LOL!!!

XOXO,

Cyndi

P.S. Guess what my word verification is? "cupbutt" what is up with all these "butt" words?! I think it's a conspiracy! (Huge Grin!)

Sounds and looks like you had a special mothers day. My son hurt his shoulder so we put off moms day until he is more mobile and out of pain. He felt so bad as we always have a fun time, but whats a week or two. Your little girl is precious.

Angela, your gift on its way to England is so gorgeous. I know she will love it.

Sounds like the weekend turned out fun. And it's a good idea to keep a death-grip on your purse these days. Especially on a stage coach.

Not all old couples are look-a-likes. My dh is nearer my size now that he's lost 70#, but his face looks long and thin, probably because of the ever-receding hairline/baldness. I wear bangs and my hair is long but I wear it up. I have an oval face. I don't think we'll ever look alike.

Hi Angela, thanks for the lovely comment you left on my blog.

Your daughter is beautiful! I think you're far prettier than your OH - LOL. It's lovely to see what you look like. Your special day sounded great.

I'm sorry I don't visit more often, for some reason your posts never show in my dashboard reader even though I'm a follower. I will follow again to see if that makes any difference. xx
